A Match Preview of the North London Derby

Arsenal welcome bitter rivals Spurs to the Emirates looking for a win against their North London rivals. Tottenham have had a better start in the league than the Gunners as they sit a point ahead of Arsenal. Arsenal last week were left disappointed after they only managed to get a point against Fulham at home and so were Spurs as they lost to ManCity after leading at half time.

Last North London derby is probably a favourite of many Arsenal fans as Arsenal came behind to record a 5-2 victory at the Emirates and at a point when Arsenal started to close down on Tottenham for third place. This was a day to remember for the Gunners as they thrashed a Spurs team who were the favourites for third and a win coming to the Emirates. A similar match would hopefully kick off a good run as Arsenal are struggling to find form.

Possible starting XI:

Arsenal fans would hope to see number one choice Szczesny return for this vital match despite Mannone showing his quality with some good performances. Szczesny would undergo a test ahead of Saturday according to the manager.

In defence, it would be no surprise to see Arsène Wenger continue with Vermaelen at left back rather than Santos. The centre back pairing of Koscielny and Mertesacker will continue with Bacary Sagna at right back. There were also rumours that Arsène Wenger will be playing five at the back on Saturday. For this you will have to wait for Saturday lunch time.

In the middle of the park, Wilshere will return to the line up alongside Arteta and Cazorla. Mikel Arteta would look to improve his performance and leave behind the Fulham game.

Up front, Olivier Giroud would be looking to add to his recent goal scoring form. The Frenchman has scored six goals in all competitions along with five assists. Podolski and Walcott would play on the left and right hand side of attack respectively.

This is a must win otherwise Arsenal would be left very far behind.
