Sunderland vs Arsenal: Match Preview (FA)
Arsenal travel to the Stadium of Light yet once again this week for the FA Cup fifth round. This week has gone with quite mixed emotions till now. First, winning on the last minute at Sunderland to move in the top 4 of the Premier League and then being thrashed by Milan in midweek at the San Siro in the Round of 16 first leg CL. The wounds from the Milan only be healed by winning on Saturday against Sunderland.
Arsenal saw how dangerous Sunderland can be last week. It was a really difficult match but it was the King, who came to Arsenal’s rescue and got a last gasp winner. A fairytale ending.
Arsenal would welcome back Yao Gervinho from the African’s Cup after Ivory Coast lost to Zambia (8-7) on penalties. Arsenal would be without their Centre back pair – Koscielny and Mertesacker – due to injury.
Predicted line up:
Szczesny would look to improve his performance after poor display at San Siro. He would definitely start against the Black Cats, but would have to show his quality like last week.
The back four would see Johan Djourou starting alongside Tomas Vermaelen. Djourou came on as a replacement for Koscielny against Milan during midweek. Sagna and Gibbs would take their places at Right back and left back respectively.
The midfield would be same with Song, Arteta and Ramsey as Rosicky would probably drop to the bench.
Alex Oxlade Chamberlain would be back in the starting line up alongside Walcott and Van Persie. Chamberlain was dropped to the bench during midweek because of less experience in the champions league.
I probably predict a 2-1 win once again for Arsenal.
That’s all for today,
