Manchester City vs Arsenal- A must win Battle

Venue: Etihad Stadium

Sun, Dec 18 | Kickoff: at 9:30PM | Live on ESPN

We are at the exciting end of the year and we play Manchester City on Sunday and it is going to be a very important gameh for us. Last weekend Arsenal won against Everton thanks to a blistering volley from the Flying Dutchman Robin Van Persie, while  Mancini’s Men suffered their first loss of the season in the league to Chelsea, and will be determined to get back to winning this. So it would be interesting to see which team would come up on top this Sunday.

Micah Richards is ready to return after missing the last two matches for City’s defense but they will be without Aleksandar Kolarov, sidelined for a month with a groin injury, and Gael Clichy, who will serve a one match ban against his former club after being sent off from their Chelsea game. The match is an important one for both clubs like I mentioned before and comes three weeks after a second string City side beat young Arsenal 1-0 in a League Cup quarterfinal at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are on a seven match wining streak from their last eight and remember we were 15th in the league about 15 weeks back before we found our form and got back to winning ways. One reason for this is definitely due to the fact that our captain RVP is in the best form of his life playing at Arsenal. Robin van Persie has scored 18 goals in his last 16 Premier League away appearances. The Dutchman has now netted 33 goals in 32 Premier League games in 2011, only Alan Shearer 36 in 1995 and Thierry Henry 34 in 2004 have outscored him in a calendar year in the Premier League era. There are good chances for him to top them both. Something definitely exciting to look forward to!

The man to watch out in the City side is Silva and he is the man in the midfield with all the creativity. And our midfield needs to make sure that we cut him down and not allow him a lot of space. Nasri might also feature in the game from what Mancini said after he made him play at the Emirates and we can hope that he has another tough game from the likes of Song. I would love to see Frimpong play this after what he had done to them in the Carling cup but he might not get his place on the team with Arteta , Song and Ramsey definitely part of the starting 11.

Another game like the one against Chelsea is on the cards and if we get this win its going to throw the season right open. We also have the Champions League knockout draw happening today at 0430 hrs Indian time. Cant wait to see whom we going to face in the next round. As long we dont get Milan or Napoli i think we should be safe.

So all the best Gunners and let us know what your predictions are .
