Are Arsenal Fans Panicking too Early?

The start of the football season is now a number of weeks behind us, and most fans have now got a taste of what their club can offer for the next ten months. Those teams in the football league have already seen their sides play on three occasions, as well as a League Cup tie.

However, it’s less than seven days since the Premier League started again, with millions of fans anticipating what could be a big season due to the managerial changes.

The long wait during the summer can cause some fans to get excited after a win, or even a battling performance against one of the so-called top four. But there’s the other end of the scale, with fans starting to worry despite 37 games remaining.

Arsenal’s defeat at the weekend to Aston Villa was probably made out to be worse due to the lack of signings that manager, Arsene Wenger, has made this season. Like in most of their games, the Gunners had their chances and should have scored a number of goals, but Villa refused to go away and their never-say-die attitude deserved the three points.

But in defeat, the panic button has already been pressed by a number of Premier League betting pundits. Last term, Arsenal struggled with two months of the season left to go and found a way, so why should this situation be any different?

The lack of new blood is a worry but, the latest live football commentary suggests that fans have already had enough – and the season is already doomed due to one defeat.

Wenger does need to pull his finger out in the transfer market, but the Gunners have played just one game; let’s be a little more realistic.
