Arsenal travel to Upton Park for their second consecutive London Derby. Arsenal have 9 points from a possible 18 which is an alright start to the new campaign – at least better than last season. Arsenal have lost just once but have drawn 2 in the first six matches. West Ham on the other hand have enjoyed a better start than the Gunners with 11 points in the first six matches and sit sixth in the table, a place ahead of Arsenal.
Possible line up:
Vito Mannone would continue to be the man between the sticks as number 1 choice Wojciech Szczesny is still out due to injury. The Italian has performed well in the absence of the Pole.
The defence might remain unchanged from Wednesday’s win over Olympiakos as Mertesacker is still not confirmed to be ready for Saturday’s clash due to flu. If this is the case the back four will look like this: Jenkinson, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs.
In midfield Wenger might opt to put in Chamberlain alongside Arteta and Cazorla to exploit the West Ham defence. Cazorla will look to create and find those little gaps against the London side as well.
Up front Giroud might come back into the lineup but Arsène Wenger might play ‘in form’ Gervinho as his centre forward. If Giroud is back then Gervinho will shift on to the right hand side with Podolski on the left.
It should be three points for the Emirates against The Hammers and I predict a comfortable 3-0 victory.
