Arsenal lost their first match of the season against Chelsea after two soft goals made the difference between a loss and win. Arsenal conceded through two set pieces which reminded us of the old arsenal. It was a poor result as Arsenal now are 7th in the League and are 7 points behind league leaders Chelsea. Here are the player ratings from the match.
Mannone 6- He didn’t have much to do but to pick the ball out of the back of the net. He could have doe better for both the goals but he wasn’t to blame for them.
Gibbs 6.5- Did extremely well up and down the left side and was there when required.
Vermaelen 7- Was strong and commanding and made good tackles.
Koscielny 6- He had an unlucky game on Saturday. You can blame him for both the goals but he just had a bad game that you have once or twice a year. People forget he was the Gunners best defender last season and was very consistent.
Jenkinson 6.5- Had an alright game against Hazard. He was caught up sometimes but did do some great tackles and interceptions.
Diaby/Chamberlain 6.5- Diaby was subbed off early on due to injury and didn’t have much impact. Chamberlain did brilliant after coming on, provided the assist and was involved in many attacks.
Arteta 7- He was brilliant in the Chelsea match and kept the likes of Ramires, Oscar, Hazard quiet.
Cazorla 6.5- Didn’t have the best of his games and looked tired. His shots weren’t great and not was his movement. Hopefully he will be ready for the Olympiakos game.
Ramsey 6.5- Was influential but not up to the mark. Left wing isn’t his best position.
Podolski 7- Did make some good runs and his header was saved by Cech. It wasn’t a bad game and he was involved in many attacks.
Gervinho 7- Scored a sensational goal but was frustrating many times.
