Costa Rica international Joel Campbell will join Real Betis on loan for the 2012/13 season.
The San Jose born striker, 20, signed for Arsenal last summer from his hometown club Deportivo Saprissa, before spending a season on loan in France with Lorient. He became a regular for Christian Gourcuff’s side with 25 appearances in Ligue 1.
The 2011/12 season also saw Campbell establish himself at senior level for Costa Rica. He has now represented his country on 14 occasions, scoring six times since making his debut in June 2011.
Campbell now heads to Spain’s La Liga to gain further first-team experience at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.
Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Joel well for his time with Real Betis.
