Burak Yilmaz shows interest in Arsenal

Burak Yilmaz

The Trabzonspur striker is keen on joining Arsenal. This is a really good opportunity for him. It would also solve Arsenal’s attacking problem after Chamakh and Gervinho left for Africans cup.

The Turkish international has been targeted by European sides such as AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund after scoring 22 goals in just 17 Super Lig games this season.

The 26-year-old insists that he would like to remain in Turkey until the end of the campaign but concedes a move to the Emirates Stadium would be hard to turn down.

“I am a Trabzonspor player until the end of the season; if I were to move abroad I would want to move to a big club. I would accept a transfer to Arsenal,” he told TRT1.

Yilmaz is on course to break Trabzonspor’s club record of 31 goals in a season, held by Fatih Tekke.

He cemented a place in the Turkey side during the Euro 2012 qualifiers under Guus Hiddink, prompting the Dutchman to proclaim: “Burak is one of Europe’s best strikers, I’m proud of his recent achievements.”
Him joining Arsenal would be wonderful. Comment if you agree.
